Hello! My name is Clay Apodaca. I am the face behind Focus Point Photography!

I am not originally from El Paso. But, I do call it home now after living here for nearly 10 years. My wife, on the other hand, was born and raised in El Paso.

I began to take photos back during the C-Pandemic. I became obsessed, as my wife would describe it, with what I could create with a camera. Taking photos definitely opened my eyes to capturing quickly fleeting moments of my family. I began to “invest” in camera equipment and haven’t looked back since. I have been “professionally” taking photos for a few years now. I can honestly say that I have met some beautiful families and full of life high school seniors and college graduates. And, I’m hoping that you become one of those people or family too!

And, if you are asking yourself… Why is everything Eastlake themed? I am the Athletic Trainer at Eastlake High School. So, naturally, it is easier for me to get shots of Eastlake students and athletes than it is for me to do other schools. But, that does not mean I exclusively look for Eastlake students to serve! I think that is one of the things that helps me separate myself from other photographers. I share the day to day experiences of most high school students and athletes. Not to mention, the crazy other things that happen during photoshoots. Flash modifiers rolling down the sidewalk, falling backwards over rocks with my camera backpack on, etc. I say, if it isn’t an adventure, it isn’t me. We just hang out while taking photos!

Although I do enjoy writing, I do not always have the time to put towards the written word. From a hobbyist to a working “professional” who loves cameras and photos. I hope to venture on a personal journey to blog about my personal work and projects, thoughts and opinions, and some paid work. And, I think it would be great if you wanted to tag along.
