Sharing Time
I was able to squeeze these two sisters into the same photoshoot. My time management skills were definitely put to the test to get in great poses and locations with 2 people. I was definitely up to the challenge but I still wanted to give them a great experience. I think this was one of my best photoshoots to-date. Everything was working in my favor this day.
Memorial Park
Memorial park in El Paso can provide some beautiful backdrops that can give you both the traditional “I am from El Paso” vibes and some unique looks that aren’t traditionally desert.
Creative Input
One thing that I super appreciated about Nat and her photoshoot was her creative input. She definitely had a vision and was very hands on about what she wanted. Where she wanted to shoot. What day she wanted. The time of day she wanted. She was very vocal about contracts and payments and photo delivery. During the shoot she had plans for multiple outfits and brought props for the photos. She was hands on with the photos that she wanted and the poses she wanted. She scrolled through my camera to review the pictures and ask for some retakes. She gave me inspiration to communicate more with my future clients to get them the best possible experience I can! Don’t be afraid to have your voice heard during photoshoots. They are your pictures. I am just here to help you bring your vision to life!
Senior Style Guide
I have created, revised, and printed a magazine style guide for my seniors to use to help get the most out of their senior picture experience. The pictures that I have taken that are in the magazine turned out exactly how I envisioned them. The editing is consistent and the print amazing. Which goes back to me begging you to PRINT YOUR PICTURES!
This year (2025) I plan to create a simple template for a magazine to send my seniors as a gift after the shoot is done and the pictures are edited.
Polaroids
Something that I offer for my senior photoshoots is polaroids. I use a polaroid now + camera to get those “vintage” photos. I do not guarantee that they will even expose properly. I think it is a cool touch to have some physical products to leave the photoshoot with. I do not usually take pictures of the polaroids. So, I don’t have any examples to show. They take anywhere from 15-20 minutes to finish developing. By the time the photoshoot is finished, I am exhausted and so is the senior!
All the best
